Through the Transitional Living Program, The Ark provides a safe and supportive temporary housing solution for those looking to move forward in their lives. Housing is one of the most common problems among people going through a life transition, an employment crisis, or other struggles. We aim to alleviate this issue by providing a short-term housing option that allows people to get back on their feet. We give support and encouragement to our residents as they embark on this journey!
Our programs has zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol (on and off campus). Our residents are required to attend a local Christian church service and Celebrate Recovery once a week. The Transitional Living Program is a Christ-centered environment where residents may work towards becoming self-sufficient and productive citizens in our community.
Transitional Living is a 6-month program. Each room is furnished with a bed and private bath. If other items are available (such as microwaves, small refridgerator, dresser, etc), those will be provided as well. Residents have access to a community kitchen, laundry, and living area between the hours of 7:00am-8:00pm.
We work with area agencies to provide additional services, such as G.E.D. preparation and testing, higher education opportunities, permanent housing referrals, and food programs. Our hope is to assist residents in achieving any goal they set for themselves!
Candidates must fill out an application, pass a drug test, and submit to a background check. Staff will conduct an inperson screening, and will approve residents based on the results of all required steps.
Priority is given to women and families. Candidates from any other circumstance will be considered based on availablility.
